This position will oversee the production and completion of all deliverables for every phase of assigned projects. Independently performs the most difficult design assignments requiring the application of advanced design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes.

  • Directly supervise 0-5 employees; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Duties also include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Provides assistance in establishing criteria for all phases of projects utilizing basic engineering principles, design specifications, industry accepted construction practices, and maintenance requirements.
  • Efficient with design software and applies engineering fundamentals to prepare designs meeting requirements of internal and external clients.
  • Develops technical specifications for proposed designs.
  • Coordinates design work with sub consultants and other disciplines involved on a project.
  • Assigns tasks and reviews work of others.
  • Attends client meetings to present proposed designs and discuss issues as necessary.
  • Capable of providing design software training classes to internal and external clients.
  • Consults with and advises internal and external clients on project needs including, but not limited to, establishing staffing requirements, cost estimates, and design schedules.
  • Provides input to projects during the conceptual and planning stages.
  • Assigns tasks to lower-level design personnel, provides technical guidance, and reviews completed assignments for completeness, accuracy, and quality.
  • Capable of determining material types, descriptions, and quantities for the projects.
  • Reviews manufacturer and fabricator drawings for conformance with design criteria and project specifications.
  • Provides lower-level design/drafting personnel with design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings, general layouts, and guidance refining technical requirements.
  • Regularly interfaces with other departments, clients, vendors, project managers, and project engineers to support production of project deliverables and to resolve conflicting priorities.
  • Performs other related tasks in support of project engineer that are non-routine and complex in nature, such as providing input on the development of procedures and specifications; analyzing bids, compiling, computing, and analyzing various engineering designs and/or test data; estimating, etc.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of related experience
  • Two-year technical degree or certification

COMPENSATIONThe approximate compensation range for this position is $98,537- $135,504. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.  BENEFITSWe offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
