Job Description

  Pond is recruiting for a self-motivated individual to serve as a Senior Bridge Engineer in our Jacksonville office. Our Transportation team currently provides multidisciplined design and design related services to State, Municipal, and private clients. This position has great growth potential: it will provide the opportunity to lead the training and mentoring of junior engineering staff as well as be involved in Business Development for our bridge practice in Florida. This position will also work as an integral part of our entire Transportation team to achieve overall goals. The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate previous success in the management and delivery of bridge projects, proven leadership skills, and a strong work ethic. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of our growing Transportation practice and to have a direct impact on our growth goals in the transportation industry.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical

  • Working knowledge of FDOT design criteria and standards
  • Proficiency with bridge design software packages such as OpenBridge, Leap, MicroStation
  • Function as Sr. Design Manager and/or Sr. Project Manager as needed to win opportunities, achieve technical results and desired client outcomes
  • Excellent technical skills to serve as lead designer of bridge and wall designs
  • Ability to coordinate multiple unique assignments simultaneously, ability to delegate and manage assigned work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals. Engage in and support internal Quality Control and Quality Assurance Program

Operational

  • Must be able to provide direction and mentor junior level staff.
  • Assist Project Managers and Design Team for day-to-day decisions on resource allocation, staffing, and project budgets.
  • Assist in the assessment of resources and effectiveness to meet current and future needs.
  • Responsible for day to day operations and overall resource management for the FL Bridge Practice.
  • Assist in evaluating, review, and approval of new hires.
  • Responsible for training, mentoring, and professional development of direct reports.

Marketing/Project Pursuits

  • Assist in marketing pursuits in concert with Project Manager, Pond Leadership, and our Marketing team by providing staff hour estimates and input on schedule.
  • Serve as Bridge Key Technical Lead (KTL) as needed in proposals.

 We anticipate filling this position as a Senior Transportation Engineer with a salary range of $99,400.00 - $157,600.00 per year.
Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. Additional cash incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on position offered.
