JOB DESCRIPTION
To support strong forward workload, we have a great opportunity for a Senior Structural Designer / BIM Coordinator to join our Water Dams team in a fulltime permanent position. GHD has been involved in dams since the company's inception almost 90 years ago. We are proud to have one of the largest dedicated dams engineering teams in Australia and one of the larger teams across the globe providing high value services in the water, resources, power, industrial and agricultural sectors. Working with the Design Team Leader, as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team across a variety of Dams, Resources, Tunnels and Geotechnical projects with clients ranging from key water utility and transport providers to major mining clients, this position offers an extensive variety of work.This role will see you involved in:
- Delivery of design models and AutoCAD Drawings for our water dams, tailings dams, tunnels and resources teams as well as other like-minded business groups.
- Delivering integrated project deliverables in Autodesk Revit
- Design of associated civil structures such as dams, drainage structures and other heavy industrial structures, both steel and concrete.
- Collaborating closely with engineers, project managers and quality checkers
- Leading Coordination and Collaboration utilising the Federated Model in the following platforms: Autodesk Navisworks, BIM360 Model Coordination
- Troubleshooting issues and supporting technical team members
- Mentoring peers and providing technical documentation, modelling, and engineering advice
- Driving the BIM step-up strategy within the team, in consultation with the regional BIM manager
What you will bring to the team
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (e.g., Bachelor of Technology, Associate Degree, or similar) and have a passion for structural design.
- Advanced skills in Revit, Navisworks and associated coordination packages.
- Experience using visual programing tool such as Dynamo and/or Grasshopper preferable.
- A firm understanding of ISO19650 principles.
- A strong focus on delivering quality documentation for large multi-disciplinary projects.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects and coordinate amongst the team.
