Job Description
Closing Date 11/08/2023

 

  • Prepare detailed civil engineering designs, documents, and specifications;
  • Review the work and specifications of other Engineers;
  • Guide less experienced Engineers within the team in order to achieve project success;
  • Create 3D structural analysis models using commercial software, including RAM, SAP, ETABS, and SAFE;
  • Establish and review job and project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing and expenditure;
  • Undertake detailed civil engineering design for gravity and lateral systems of building structures;
  • Work with BIM tools, including REVIT, and computational design methods including Rhino and Grasshopper;
  • Responsible for structural design elements on projects as required;
  • Deliver project work within agreed deadlines and within budget;
  • Ensure appropriate service and design decisions are met;
  • Maintain communication with senior staff and inform them of important and relevant design decisions;
  • Design composite and non-composite steel floor systems including vibration analysis;
  • Design reinforced concrete floor systems including one-way and two-way flat slabs;
  • Design lateral force resisting system of structures including braced frame and moment frame systems, as well as concrete shear wall and concrete sway systems;
  • Design precast plank floor systems, Girder-Slab, long span joists, and staggered truss systems;
  • Create foundation designs including Mat footing, pile caps, and spread and combined footing and basement walls;
  • Apply local and national building codes and design practices (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI-318); and,
  • Utilize design and modeling software including Robot, Etabs, and Rhino.

 Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field of study.
  • Five (5) years of experience with designing composite and non-composite steel floor systems including vibration analysis; designing reinforced concrete floor systems including one-way and two-way flat slabs; designing lateral force resisting system of structures including braced frame and moment frame systems, as well as concrete shear wall and concrete sway systems; designing precast plank floor systems, Girder-Slab, long span joists, and staggered truss systems; foundation design including Mat footing, pile caps, and spread and combined footing and basement walls; local and national building codes and design practices (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI-318); and, design and modeling software including Robot, Etabs, and Rhino.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (any state) required.
