Company Name: Michael Baker International, Inc.Job location: Chicago, ILJob Title: Civil Engineer II-StructuralMinimum Salary: $82,451 per year Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience with Structural Engineering for Bridges or related. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. A Professional Engineer (PE) License is required. Duration: Regular HireWork Week: 40 hoursTravel: Travel required up to one week per month to Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois to perform bridge inspections.Experience: Requires skills and experience to include the following: CANDE load rating experience; Advanced load rating techniques including strut and tie load rating; Complex finite element analysis; Design experience in multiple states; Extensive load rating experience; Con-Span; RC-Pier; MDX; AASTOWare Bridge Load Rating; Midas; MicroStation computer software; and Heavy permit load vehicle load rating experience.Job Duties: Under limited supervision, plans, designs, and analyzes data on civil engineering projects such as roads, airports, bridges, pipelines, tunnels and water and sewage systems. Responsible for structural engineering studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, basic reports, and supporting documentation. Prepares moderately complex construction drawings such as those needed for highways, structures, and water control projects. Perform load rating analysis and assist in preparation of load rating reports for bridges. Perform bridge inspection and bridge inspection reports. Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates and assist and/or lead efforts in bridge design and plan developments.
