Project Geotechnical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Seattle, WA office. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
Perform geotechnical engineering calculations and analyses. Perform geotechnical report writing. Complete geotechnical field exploration and sample collection. Perform geotechnical construction monitoring and testing. Participate in client meetings and presentations. Telecommuting permitted.  Less than 5% domestic travel throughout the US required for client and project visits along with internal business meetings.         Requires a Doctorate degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field of study plus any amount of experience gained through education, work experience, or internships. 
Requires experience with the following:

  • Stress 1-D Seismic Site response analyses leveraging advanced constitutive liquefaction prediction models such as PMS4Sand and PM4Silt.
  • CPT based liquefaction impact analysis of sites including building settlement and ejecta estimates.
  • Probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard evaluation.
  • Finite element based seismic soil structure interaction modeling.
  • Programming in Python.
  • Traditional geotechnical calculations and analyses such as deep and shallow foundation capacity calculations, slope stability, and lateral earth pressures.
  • Geotechnical report and other technical document drafting.
