At GHD, we don’t just believe in the power of commitment, we live and breathe it every day.Who are we looking for?We're looking for a Demolition Project Engineer to join our Delivery Phase Services (DPS) Site Project team. This position is a key member of a major decommissioning, demolition and disposal project in Gove, Northern Territory.This is a great opportunity to work on Australia’s largest demolition/remediation project in a remote yet iconic part of Australia, in East Arnhem land.The position is part of an integrated owners’ team where you will be working alongside and learning from some of the very best in the industry.That’s why we pledge to support and empower all of our people to make a positive impact when working hand in hand with our business to drive change. Together with your colleagues, clients and partners, you'll make an impact that is felt by all. See where your commitment could take you. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Facilitate weekly engineering meetings to review contractor work method statements and technical engineering deliverables.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with multi-disciplines within the clients’ owners team.  
  • Complete in field verification safety audits on a regular basis
  • Facilitate workshop discussions with the contractor and owners’ team stakeholders.
  • Positive leadership and contribution to the site safety culture and wellbeing of the workforce. 
  • Participate and contribute to weekly progress reviews (cost & program) and provide recommendations to client and contractor.  

What you will bring to the team:

  • Demonstratable project experience in the energy and resources sector preferably with some knowledge of closure and demolition.
  • Demonstrated experience with working in an owners team or working with Demolition contractors.
  • A Structural or Mechanical Engineer Degree with a minimum of 5 years proven site experience.
  • Highly developed and open communication and influencing skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated experience and appreciation for working on a site in a high-risk environment.
  • Experience in completion of risk assessments and providing safety leadership in a site-based environment.
  • A great attitude and a team contributor.
  • Willing travel on a fly in fly out roster and explore the wonders of east Arnhem land with the rest of the Gove project team.
