Our Boston office prides itself on providing practical and innovative solutions to real world engineering challenges. Typical projects include evaluation of building stability during construction and for temporary loads imposed during construction. This often involves the design of building and non-building components including the design of shoring, rigging and the development of unique engineering solutions.The RoleWe are seeking a talented Senior Engineer for our Boston office. This individual will join the Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering team as we expand our local as well as national market presence. As our Boston office continues to grow, there is great potential for upward mobility and career development within this exciting new role.The goals of this role will be to support local and national projects. Tasks will include face-to-face interactions with existing clients as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with new clients. You'll form part of a team delivering innovative construction engineering solutions.Responsibilities
- Structural analysis, design and detailing for all types of buildings and materials using a variety of building codes and industry standards.
- Site visits and communication with clients to understand project requirements.
- Preparation of construction documents utilizing Revit and Bluebeam Revu software.
- Collaborative team work, delivering projects to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
- EIT Certification and/or working towards the goal of becoming a Professional Engineer.
- Working knowledge of current construction industry methodologies and practices
- Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, Ram, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
