About the role This is a great opportunity for a Civil Structural Engineer to join our expanding team. With previous experience in a similar role you will apply your acquired skills and knowledge to work on a portfolio of different projects, whilst also meeting new challenges to find innovative solutions. The role will be based from our Manchester office, but we offer a hybrid working environment which provides the opportunity to work from any of our other UK offices and from home. Core responsibilities
- Applies technical knowledge and skill to support the delivery of a variety of design packages and other delegated technical aspects of projects
- Draws on technical knowledge to solve routine problems with limited supervision, and responsible for managing personal contribution to the team, with guidance from senior team members.
- Provides feedback on delegated project assignments, including progress updates and potential obstacles.
- May be called upon to be responsible for role of Project Manager on smaller or more routine projects.
- May provide informal guidance to interns and graduates in a team, including allocating and checking work and providing feedback on performance
- Ensures junior team members are adhering to delivery standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own industry.
- Contributes to the development of proposals for moderately complex projects
- Develops business by maintaining client relationships and ensuring client loyalty and repeat work through excellent customer service and delivery.
Skills, experience and qualifications
- Qualification / Degree in relevant engineering discipline
- Numerate with a focus on problem solving
- Strong application of engineering principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Commercial awareness in dealings with clients, proposals and projects.
- Experience of mentoring or supporting the development of more junior staff
- Learning agility, actively learning through experimentation and experience and seeking ways to grow and to be challenged
