There are no limitations, no boundaries, to the engineering challenges McLaren can meet. POSITION TITLEProject Engineer - Coastal LOCATIONHybrid - Remote/NYC OVERVIEWThe Coastal Project Engineer applies a broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area. The Coastal Project Engineer is responsible for independently evaluating, selecting and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while working on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the technical design and engineering required to complete projects or portions of projects within the scope, schedule and budget.
  • Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work; designs a complete project, system, component or process.
  • Assists with the preparation of project scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments;
  • Prepares complete project documents and designs, analyzes and interprets data, and solves technical problems.
  • Assigns tasks to and directs engineers, technicians and administrative staff.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Coastal/Ocean Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education.
  • Professional Engineering Registration or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • A minimum of five years of experience.
  • Experience with coastal erosion control principles and design of mitigation measures.
  • Familiar with hydrodynamic modeling software such as SMS, MIKE, DELFT, etc.
  • Skilled in wave propagation and transformation calculations; development of extreme value analysis; calculation of environmental imposed loads on structures.
  • Excellent analytical capability; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a team focused environment and engage in creative, critical thought; takes initiative and can function at a high level on multi-disciplinary teams.
