Geologist/Hydrogeologist

Bring your expertise, industry knowledge, and leadership to Haley & Aldrich – we’ll give you the flexibility and support to chart your own career path and explore the areas you’re passionate about. Haley & Aldrich is growing, and we are currently seeking a Geologist/Hydrogeologist to support a variety of challenging multi-disciplinary geologic/hydrogeologic site characterization, groundwater quality investigation/monitoring, groundwater resource, and site remediation/waste management projects. Projects include general site civil/geotechnical, water resources management, waste management, remediation, and contaminated site management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business unit in a privately held company with over 60 years of preparing smart, integrated solutions for our clients. This position will be based in our Cleveland, OH or Greenville, SC office.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

  •  Develop and execute technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as related to hydrogeological investigations and evaluations and supporting remedial corrective actions under regulatory programs.
  •  Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for the hydrogeology discipline.
  •  Contribute to project deliverables with technical writing and preparation of graphical presentation of data.
  •  Develop technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on project opportunities of all sizes and levels of complexity.
  •  Understand and adhere to client objectives and perform activities consistent with regulatory requirements.
  •  Work collaboratively with other hydrogeologic/geologic staff in a project setting, to achieve team objectives and produce high-quality project deliverables.
  •  Work with various multi-disciplinary project teams to understand client needs and contribute to informing technical aspects of project delivery.
  •  Provide leadership and management of project tasks.

 SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering (geotechnical, environmental geological), environmental science, or other related discipline.
  • M.S. degree preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of environmental consulting experience including designing and implementing groundwater monitoring compliance programs, conducting hydrogeological investigations, and assisting in the design of groundwater remedies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • PG or PE Registration is preferred, but not required (or the candidate having the ability to pursue such licensing).
  • Computer Skills – Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Additional computer skills such as hydrogeologic modeling, statistical analysis, R-Studio, ArcGIS, etc. a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • Ability to travel and participate in field investigation programs.
  • Experience with hydrogeologic investigations and groundwater remediation and having experience with these same activities for Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) sites is a plus.
