We celebrate our differences and strive to make meaningful progress toward becoming a more diverse company.Learn more about our culture.About The JobWe are seeking an associate-level environmental planner/analyst to assist primarily with preparation of documents and reports in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as well as to conduct occasional project site visits. The individual chosen for this position will work collaboratively with Dudek’s environmental team in Encinitas and San Diego and throughout southern California on a wide variety of projects including infill development, institutional, industrial, medical, commercial, water/wastewater, energy, transportation, residential and mixed-use projects.   • Assist in the preparation of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documentation, including Categorical Exemptions, Initial Studies, Mitigated Negative Declarations and Environmental Impact Report sections
  • Tasks include research, data collection, technical writing, and coordination with technical staff
  • Posting notices with County Clerk offices in Southern California
  • Assist in the preparation of NEPA documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impacts, sections of Environmental Impact Statements
  • Preparation of permit applications
  • Attendance at project meetings, including taking notes and preparing minutes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 1-5 years of related experience in an environmental science field. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Biological Resources, Anthropology, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Ability to travel regionally for business; reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team
  • Excellent technical writing skills
