Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op to join its collaborative team. This individual will serve a key function in assisting with project work at John F. Kennedy International Airport. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cross-disciplinary opportunities that involve Environmental, Geotechnical or Site/Civil Engineering in a continuous learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and design of projects at JFK;
- Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
- Observe earthwork and grading construction activities and monitor conformance with the construction documents;
- Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
- Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering;
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred;
- Ability to travel to Queens, NY for project work;
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and a car to access the project site at JFK.

Base Hourly Range: $19/hr - $26/hr. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible for overtime.
