Job Description
Position Description
- Work as the point of contact for the client throughout the project
- Monitor construction progress, quality and schedule
- Process change orders
- Collaborate with the architect and construction crew to ensure the project’s practicality
- Inspecting and measuring the Contractor’s workmanship, materials, and methods for compliance with the contract documents
- Oversee that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals and procedures
- Documenting inspection observations and measurements including summaries of labor equipment and material usage
- Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
- Construction scheduling, project budgeting and field supervision
- Translate and implement project plans and special provisions
- Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes to achieve final project acceptance
- Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
- 15+ years of experience in construction management
- Familiarity with Illinois construction engineering practices, standards, and documentation
- Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and CADD
