As a manager, coordinate and administer the Metro business processes for traffic safety, system operations, and work zone safety and mobility. The manager is to maintain alignment within the region including other work areas in Operations, TSC's, regions, Lansing, and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
The manager is charged with meeting deadlines, meeting MDOT customer needs, resolving complex issues to ensure successful process, project and program implementation, managing budgets, and ensuring continued operations for delivery of MDOT services and products. This responsibility includes optimizing region efforts for traffic safety, mobility, reliability, and accessibility, as well as leading the Metro Traffic Safety and Operations Business Team. The manager is responsible for advancing integration of activities across work areas within Metro Operations and Metro.
This position provides effective leadership for a highly engaged workforce and ensures accountability and professional development of staff.
Required Education and ExperienceEducation
Five years of professional experience equivalent to an Engineer, including three years equivalent to an Engineer P11; two years equivalent to an Engineer 12, Engineer Manager 12, or Engineer Manager-Licensed 12; or, one year equivalent to an Engineer Manager 13, Engineer Manager-Licensed 13, Engineering Specialist 13, or Engineering Specialist-Licensed 13.Additional Requirements and InformationApplicants who possess foreign degrees must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents, unless the degree has been accepted by an accredited degree granting institution in the United States.
