The interchange of ideas from a diverse group of people gives our teams an expanded perspective and the ability to find better solutions for our clients. Company : Black & Veatch Corporation  Req Id : 25861 Job Title : Geotechnical Engineer 2 - Heavy Civil - Florida  Location : RGTAMP, VRTLFL Business Unit Sector : COR-WATER-WATER AMERICAS Opportunity Type : Staff Relocation eligible : Yes Full time/Part time : Full-Time  Project Only Hire : No Visa Sponsorship Available: Yes Job SummaryBlack & Veath has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer within our Heavy Civil Business Line.  This position will provide engineering and construction related planning, design, analysis, oversight and studies for domestic and international geotechnical and Heavy Civil projects with a focus on dams, levees and mine tailings.  Focus will be in Central and South Florida.  Key Responsibilities§ Support geotechnical and Heavy Civil Business Line projects including Tunnels, Dams, Buried Infrastructure, and Hydro Practice Pursuits§  Perform and coordinate geotechnical field investigations - may require up to 50% field work.§  Prepare design materials for basic design assignments. This includes analysis, design calculations, equipment research, sketches, etc., required to prepare documents, specifications drawings or to meet other project requirements.§  Complete detailed advanced geotechnical modeling including seepage, stability, strain/deformation, and deep foundation systems.§  Prepare design sketches for drafting and incorporation into design criteria. Proficiency with CAD is preferred.§  Review manufacturer's drawings with respect to B&V design criteria.§ Develop preliminary layouts and other plans.§  Coordinate design with other personnel working on same project to minimize design conflicts. §  Develop and implement data management systems for dam-related investigations, construction materials testing, and safety inspections.§  Develop alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems.Management ResponsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
