Join Cardno's Science and Environment team in Northern California to play an integral role in leading a technically and geographically diverse team supporting major utilities in developing more resilient energy infrastructure.
Cardno is currently seeking a Project Manager to lead a technically and geographically diverse team for multi-year environmental on-call contracts with a major Northern California utility. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing work currently in hand, developing additional work under our existing MSA, and working with the account manager to position Cardno for upcoming opportunities. Cardno currently has multiple contract vehicles and is in the process of proposing on additional ones. The ideal Candidate will have established relationships with Northern California Utility Project Managers and be capable of generating in excess of $250,000 in new business within 12 months. The successful candidate will report to the California Account Manager. Upon winning new work, the Candidate will work with existing resources to deliver the agreed, defined project deliverables on time, within budget, and of the quality that is in accordance with Cardno and client business, technical and HSE requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Directing staff and subcontractors in the completion of environmental for assigned tasks.> The candidate will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating all necessary resource reviews with their staff or subcontractors, and work with the client's representative to obtain the project environmental review and any other supporting documentation.> The candidate shall work with their internal or subcontracted staff to identify standard avoidance and minimization measures client review and approval.> It is expected that the candidate will perform and/or QA/QC desktop reviews all projects they are assigned to and report back to the client on the assessment.> Be familiar with accessing and using the following GIS database sources that should be used include, but are not limited to, the following: > Client provided KMZ layers > Aerial imagery > Natural Resource Conservation Service soil maps > US Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) wetland inventory maps > USFWS critical habitat designations > California Natural Diversity Database (CNDDB) > California Protected Areas Database (client specific) > California Wildlife Habitat Relationships > Biogeographic information and observation system (bios) > California Native Plant Society rare plant database > USFWS IPaC quad searches/species lists and critical habitat designations
> Minimum BS degree in engineering/geology (civil, environmental,> chemical, mechanical or geotechnical) or related science with 4-7> years of environmental consulting project manager experience> Experienced in one or more of the following areas power sector> environmental planning, permitting, biology, or archeology Strong> client satisfaction track record Demonstrated commitment to safety> Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgement Ability to> multi-task and set priorities Ability to adapt the team and> organization in a changing/dynamic environment Exhibits initiative,> responsibility, flexibility, and leadership Possess a thorough> understanding of contract administration and office procedures Ability> to coordinate with a team composed of Cardno and subcontractor staff> to maintain efficiencies and meet deadlines Ability to analyze and> interpret common scientific journal and technical journals, financial> reports, and legal documents Strong technical writing skills (be> prepared to provide examples if requested) Excellent verbal and> written communication skills Working knowledge of state (CA) and> federal regulations Professional registrations are a plus OSHA 40-hour> training with current OSHA 8hr refresher a plus Ability to work well in a project team and a fast paced environment Ability to travel as needed.> Ability to pass drug and alcohol screen.> Ability to pass background check
