We approach problems with creativity and innovation.  The Seattle, Washington office is seeking a Project Level/Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our growing dam engineering business. We are looking for experienced, motivated candidates with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.  Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical engineering analyses, calculations, and evaluations primarily related to new and existing hydropower and water supply dams and reservoirs.
  • Develop geotechnical engineering recommendations and write geotechnical engineering reports
  • Serving as a senior reviewer for technical work and technical mentoring
  • Management of engineers and scientists
  • Perform project management activities including communicating resource needs, planning and delegating work, management of project budgets, invoicing and backlog reporting
  • Manage client relationships and business development opportunities
  • Proposal preparation
  • Occasionally perform field work such as logging test borings, construction observation and on-site client consultation

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of professional experience in geotechnical investigations and analysis
  • Prior experience with dam engineering and/or investigations in the Pacific Northwest is highly preferred
  • Experience and education in seismic hazard, liquefaction potential and remediation, and dynamic performance of embankments is preferred
  • P.E. certification is required
  • AutoCAD and GIS skills suitable for developing geotechnical deliverables
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement
  • Effective time management and interpersonal skills
  • This position requires business travel
