Job Description: HDR is looking for an entry to mid-level Coastal EIT/Designer in our Corpus Christi or Houston, TX office to join our team of nationally ranked professionals. We are looking for a qualified EI/EIT/Designer with the ability to perform analysis and design of coastal engineering projects including:- Coastal restoration projects such as marsh restoration and beach nourishment;- Shoreline protection and flood defense projects such as revetments, breakwaters, and floodwalls;- Navigation dredging projects such as ship channels. Depending on experience level of candidate, responsibilities may also include development of project scope and fee estimates, and project management. Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes,sedimenttransport, and basic geotechnical or structural systems. #LI-BM1
Required Qualifications - A college degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil (with Hydraulic, Geotechnical, or Structural emphasis) Engineering. - 0 to 6 years of relevant experience (i.e. construction, previous work with consultants, internships, etc.).- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to work both independently and in group environments.- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.- EIT or the ability to obtain within 12 months Preferred Qualifications - Strong computer skills.- Knowledge or familiarity with computer programming (i.e. Matlab, Fortran, etc.)- Knowledge or familiarity with coastal numerical modeling (CEDAS, SMS, MIKE21, DELFT3D, ADCIRC, SWAN, etc.).- Proficiency in CAD and/or GIS.- Willingness to travel (typically for one to three days).- State of Texas Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain in 6 month period.
