  Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) has a unique, once in a lifetime key position of Transportation Practice Lead (Eastern Canada) in its Transportation group. Our teams work collaboratively in a professional environment that allows each member to develop professionally while working on challenging projects.Current and past projects include: Hwy 407 Phase 2 (Oshawa, ON),  Confederation Line Extension P3 Bid (Ottawa, ON), Hwy 401 Expansion P3 Bid (Mississauga, ON), Edmonton Valley Line West LRT P3 Bid (Edmonton, AB), Vedder Bridge Replacement and Vedder Road Hwy 1 Interchange (Chilliwack, BC), South Fraser Perimeter Road Hwy 17 Interchange (Delta, BC), Highway 99 @ 16 Ave Interchange (Surrey, BC) and San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge (California). Responsibilities:While maintaining your technical excellence, you will:

  • Prepare and implement a business plan to establish KCB in Eastern Canada, likely starting with the Greater Toronto Area, with the full support and assistance from the Transportation Lead, the Vice President Power and Transportation and KCB Corporate
  • Build and lead a team of engineers and technical staff providing mentoring and staff development on transportation and or heavy civil projects
  • Develop and nurture client, partner, and subconsultant relations and actively spearhead the marketing plan and business development activities. Firmly establish the KCB brand in the target regions
  • Actively monitor the market and react to changing conditions, opportunities and threats
  • Participate in industry organizations to promote and brand KCB
  • Respond to request for qualifications, and request for proposals
  • Appreciate, motivate, and respect the team
  • Work effectively with multi-disciplinary and geographically diverse teams
  • Ensure KCB’s quality management, health and safety, and other procedures are implemented
  • Take responsibility for profit and loss and other operational key indicators
     

If you are registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada, have 20+ years of experience in management and/or design in the transportation and/or municipal infrastructure market, preferably from the client or consultant side and have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering, we want to hear from you.We value your:

  • Risk Management: risk assessment, pricing, monitoring, mitigation
  • Selling: selling to communities, stakeholders, council, board, government and private clients, supervisor, peers and staff
  • Proposals: planning, strategizing and writing successful qualification and proposal documents
  • Staff Management: assessing needs, hiring, empowering, motivating, mentoring, resource planning and monitoring
  • Internal Controls: project management, quality management, health and safety, communications, document control, budgeting, progress reporting
  • Financial management: capital and operational planning and budget preparation, monitoring and forecasting
  • Character: has, and earns, respect of peers; unwavering and unquestionable integrity
