Job Description

  DescriptionThe Accounts Receivable Clerk will perform a wide range of accounting, customer service and clerical duties in a shared services environment. The ideal candidate must be professional, organized, detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills and effectively manage their time and projects while staying in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company Standard Operating Procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities• Update account balances, apply payments to accounts and process credits• Post adjustments, refunds, and generate reports• Analyze a high volume of cash receipts on a daily and monthly basis• Handle and resolve customer inquiries and requests regarding accounts and payments• Investigate, resolve, and process account discrepancies, disputes, misapplied payments, deposit errors, overpayments, or deductions• Coordinate and verify monthly transfer totals for the Accounts Receivable account• Send out electronic and manual invoices• Ensure the integrity of data within TRUX and maintain records by updating account information, contracts, and invoices in accordance with billing schedule• Ensure transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures • Maintain open communication and provide assistance to team members, other departments, field sites, and leadership to ensure fluid and efficient workflow• Partner with team members in standardizing department policies, procedures, and workflows• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential• Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by managementRequirementsRequired:• High School diploma or GED• One (1) or more years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience • Microsoft Office experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly with team members, management, employees, and external customers in an efficient and professional manner• Strong work ethic, demonstrating integrity, trust, and maintain confidentiality• Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment• Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports and associated documents• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions• Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines• Demonstrates strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across various teams and levels • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects• Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example: two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques
Preferred:• Epicor or other accounting software experience • TRUX software experience • Solid Waste Industry or ancillary experience   • Knowledge of GAAP
