Job Description

  GHD has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to work within our Contaminated Site and Remediation Group at our Phoenix, AZ, office.  Position Description:

  • Assisting multiple project managers with 5 – 20 site assessment and remediation projects
  • Full cycle project management to include, but not limited to, client relations, scheduling work, managing scopes of work, and managing budgets
  • Support and engage in US West CAR strategic initiatives such as emerging contaminants (such as PFAS) including assistance with presentations and marketing materials
  • Communicate and coordinate project team members and key individuals from multiple disciplines
  • Technical report preparation, QA/QC, project coordination and other management duties
  • Apply technical understanding of key regulations and technologies for cleanup of impacted sites
  • Conduct meetings and prepare agendas
  • Mentor and support junior staff
  • Deliver impeccable client service that always exceeds expectations
  • Be a primary point of contact with internal and external clients
  • Contribute to the continued growth of GHD through enhancement of existing clients and establishment of new client business
  • Develop relationships with other strategic clients within the professional community
  • Commitment to safety utilizing a behavior based safety (BBS) culture in all aspects of the job


  • BS in Geology, Engineering or related degree
  • 8-10 years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation
  • 3+ years of full cycle project management experience
  • Ability to manage a team of personnel effectively, as well as manage more complex projects
  • Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload
  • Strong technical understanding of hydrogeologic conditions, fate and transport, site conceptual model development, and corrective action planning
  • Professional Geologist/Engineer Registration is plus
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER is also a plus
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
