Primary Responsibilities HDR is seeking a staff-level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Plymouth Meeting, PA, Office. The primary duties of the Geotechnical Engineer include performing investigations and evaluations to develop design recommendations, and assist in the preparation of design plans and specifications.  More-specific duties include developing subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs, shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability analysis, subgrade evaluations, soil and rock cut slope designs, and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and other reporting documents.  Abilities at this level with task/project management functions and preparation of technical and price estimates are a plus.  The candidate should be capable of working independently and accurately, with minimal supervision.  May give direction to clerical and junior technical personnel. 


 RequirementsBachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering related field required. MSCE preferred.PA Professional Registration Required (or EIT with short-term eligibility to take PE exam a plus).5 - 8 years of geotechnical design experience required.PennDOT Test Boring Inspection certification preferred.Perform drilling and construction inspection for PennDOT, PTC, and other governmental and private projects, whenever requested.Experience with MS Office, gINT, STABL/Slide, LPILE, Slope/W, GRLWEAP, and other technical programs preferred.PennDOT and PTC design experience required.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Preference given to local candidates.   Why HDR
