Program Description2021 Summer Internship ProgramTaylor Engineering, Inc. hosts a summer internship program based out of our Jacksonville, FL office, every summer. Interns gain practical experience by observing and participating in day-to-day conduct of projects related to field of interest. Taylor Engineering provides opportunities for application and development of professional methods and skills through actual practice. Emphasis is placed on developing competence in basic professional methods such as analysis, financial responsibility, planning, record keeping, promotion, programming, public speaking, and team building/work. Interns also gain insight to the entire life-cycle of a project, and see firsthand how Taylor Engineering operates as a business. The internship program begins in the middle of May and concludes the last week in July.Internship PositionsAll intern applicants must be completing their bachelor's degree, master's degree, or Ph.D. unless otherwise noted. Accounting and Finance InternThe accounting and finance intern will assist our accounts payable/billing specialist in incoming invoices and check requests, contract billings, processing expense reports, and managing the billing cycles. CAD Technician Intern The CAD technician intern will support other CAD staff and engineers in the production of engineering documents that comply with company standards and practices. Under close supervision, the intern must produce accurate technical drawings using basic knowledge of Civil3D, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office products, and be familiar with using large document printers and other office equipment. Familiarity with Revit is a plus. The intern should have effective communication skills, a strong desire to learn, and possess a high level of integrity with sound judgement. The intern applicant must have a H.S. diploma. Interns completing A.S. degree or vocational training are highly desirable. Coastal Engineering Intern The coastal engineering intern will potentially work on one or more of the following tasks: general coastal work, monitoring reports, numerical modeling, or contract administration. Coastal Geosciences Laboratory Intern The Lab intern will assist the P.G. to help improve Lab processes, procedures, and databases. Environmental Services Intern The Environmental Services Intern will support the environmental services staff with group-specific projects and tasks including field work. GIS Intern The GIS intern will assist other GIS staff to help improve GIS processes, procedures, and databases. Marketing InternThe Marketing Intern work with our Marketing Coordinator supporting day-to-day administrative processes. The intern will assist with various marketing tasks including the creation and formatting of various documents and graphics, proposals, company website maintenance, and increasing our social media presence on multiple platforms. Water Resources Engineering Intern
- The water resources engineering intern will assist in engineering work involving hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood risk analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and other water resources engineering work as may be required.
- The intern applicant must be completing his/her bachelor’s or master's degree. Bachelor’s level candidates must be in their junior or senior year.
- Part-time or full-time availability (full-time preferred)
