Job Description

Job Summary Homestead Building Systems, Inc., has been servicing the Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. Area with the finest truss systems and wall panels for
residential construction since 1996. Our company provides framing manufacturing, distribution, and construction services to the most respected home builders in the marketplace. The Technical Sales Support position supports the sales team in driving sales for HBS and servicing current customers. A highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, person with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills will thrive in this position.   Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of initial bids, scheduling projects and documentation of changes in project scope 
  • Assists in verifying lumber and exterior trim takeoffs 
  • Verifies purchase orders and option combinations, acting as a liaison between the design team and the customer 
  • Performs walkthroughs at all stages of framing, meeting with project managers, site superintendents and sub crews on a regular basis, taking note of job
    progression and trends in field issues 
  • Partners with the Sales, Design, and Project Management team to address customer issues according to Homestead’s standards 
  • Redlines plans and submits revisions, repairs and material extras in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Maintains positive working relationships with customers by providing continuous communication throughout the project 
  • Participates in continuing education to stay up to date on techniques, requirements and equipment being utilized  
  • Performs routine review of customer issues and propose cost effective improvements to management 
  • Utilizes HBS reporting/ticketing system to ensure clients’ questions are answered within 24-48 hours  
  • Utilizes current design software and residential construction guidelines by jurisdiction to solve problems 
  • All other duties as assigned 

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related degree preferred 
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the residential construction industry is a plus 
  • Numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office  
  • Ability to read architectural and structural drawings
