Job Description

Job SummaryHomestead Building Systems, Inc., has been servicing the Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. Area with the finest truss systems and wall panels for residential construction since 1996. Our company provides framing manufacturing, distribution, and construction services to the most respected home builders in the marketplace. The Technical Service Support assists the sales department in providing exceptional service to HBS’s customers. A highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, person with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills will thrive in this position.    Responsibilities

  • Utilizes HBS reporting/ticketing system to ensure clients’ questions are answered within 24-48 hours; escalates unsolvable issues to the Sales Manager
  • Partners with the Sales, Design, and Project Management teams to address various customer issues according to Homestead’s standards. This includes partnering with the Distribution and Contracts team to coordinate the timing of the delivery 
  • Reviews field team submissions, making edits/approving the submissions  
  • Utilizes current design software and residential construction guidelines by jurisdiction to solve problems 
  • Participates in continuing education to stay up to date on techniques, requirements and equipment being utilized  
  • Performs routine review of customer issues/feedback and proposes cost effective improvements to management 
  • Identifies recurring issues and recommends solutions to design/installation questions 
  • Acts as liaison between field project management team, design and distribution 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree in engineering, construction management or related degree preferred 
  • 2 years of experience in the residential construction industry is a plus 
  • Numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to read architectural and structural drawings
