Aspect Consulting, LLC, an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking an entry-level Staff Hydrogeologist to join our growing Environmental Practice in our Seattle, Washington office. This is a full-time, career-track position, with the initial focus on investigation and remediation field data collection, growing over time into hydrogeologic analyses, and eventually project and client management. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with attention to detail that can work on the following primary responsibilities:

  • Field activities at closed landfills and contaminated sites, including environmental and geotechnical drilling and soil logging and sampling; well installation and development; groundwater sampling and aquifer testing; infiltration testing; environmental monitoring; excavation monitoring and construction oversight;
  • Subcontractor management and oversight;
  • Compile and analyze data, including preparation of hydrographs, water quality diagrams, and graphical representations of subsurface conditions, and development of site-specific conceptual Performing simple quantitative analysis of groundwater systems; and
  • Field report preparation and technical report writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in hydrogeology or geology with a strong emphasis in hydrogeology; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT) registration (or eligible to complete upon hire)
  • 0 to 2 years of experience conducting field work on environmental investigation and remediation projects
  • Experience working on construction or industrial sites and around hazardous materials
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
  • Experience with and/or coursework focused on Pacific Northwest geology including glacial deposits and Columbia Basin basalts
  • Ability to collect quality field data with high attention to detail and thorough documentation
  • Knowledge of soil classification standards
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Clear writing and communication skill
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to travel long distances and accommodate overnight travel
