 We also offer comprehensive health & welfare benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays. Position Summary:   As a Geotechnical Department Manager you will be responsible for ensuring work is completed on time and in accordance with client requirements, supervise preparation of proposals and cost estimates, supervise daily operations of the department, including staff training, development, performance review, safety oversight. You will also plan for and participate in business development activities to identify, develop, win and execute project opportunities to build and maintain client relationships. You will also be responsible for technical oversight of the geotechnical department, including signing and sealing geotechnical reports, load testing reports, compliance letters for foundation installation, and plans. Also, you will provide oversight on foundation inspection and testing, including drilled shafts, driven piles, auger-cast piles, ground improvement, helical piles, and shallow foundations. Job Responsibilities:  Your day as a Geotechnical Department Manager at UES will be both challenging and rewarding. During which, you have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with your team members. On a typical day, you can be expected to: 

  • Oversee and manage the success of the key department metrics of revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability
  • Prepare and execute an annual business plan for the department 
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk
  • Promote pre-task planning for all projects
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects
  • Monitor quality standards and practices
  • Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates
  • Perform business and client development activities

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from 4 year college or university 
  • At least 5 years of industry experience
  • PE License registered in the State of Florida

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
