Job Description:

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to support our growing business. Qualified candidates will be well-rounded, organized problem solvers with a passion to continue to develop as a professional. The successful candidate for this position will gain practical knowledge and experience while solving real-world engineering problems.

Job Responsibilities:

Defining the subsurface investigation and testing programs

Scheduling and coordination

Supervising field operations

Preparing logs and assigning soil laboratory tests

Performing geotechnical engineering analysis

Writing engineering reports and specifications

Proposal development

Field observations and materials testing during construction

Willingness to travel is required; some overnight travel should be expected.

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s Degree preferred) with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering at an accredited four-year program

2 to 5 years of professional experience in consulting geotechnical engineering

Successful completion of the E.I.T.

Physical ability to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside

Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation

Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and data management computer programs

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Positive attitude

Ability to multi-task

Strong work ethic and desire for continual self-improvement

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Attention to detail and well-organized

Effective time management and interpersonal skills

Other Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status (no visa sponsorship provided)

Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check

Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening
