The Philadelphia Area (Chadds Ford), PA office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking a senior level, well qualified and experienced engineer with expertise in geotechnical engineering to support our growing dams and levees business unit. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a profession, and a design to be part of a strong team.
Plan and oversee geotechnical exploration and instrumentation programs to support evaluation and design of dams and levees
Provide technical oversight of geotechnical evaluations of dams and levees including seepage and slope stability analyses, functional drain and filter evaluations, and gravity dam stability analyses
Prepare design reports, and support development of construction drawings, technical specifications and cost estimates for design of new dam and dam rehabilitation projects.
Participate in Risk Assessments and Potential Failure Mode Assessments related to dam design, construction and operation
Provide technical support during construction of dam and levee projects
Manage client relationships and business development opportunities and develop proposals
Perform project management activities including communicating resource needs, planning and delegating work, managing project budgets and invoicing
Manage and mentor junior engineers
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Master’s degree with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to be licensed in Pennsylvania
Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably with an emphasis on dam and levees. Design experience is also preferred.

Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment employment drug screening
