The CAD Drafter 3 is responsible for performing drafting services using CAD software for a variety of civil engineering, permitting, and survey related tasks. The person in this position is expected to exercise a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and design judgement. A CAD Drafter 3 should demonstrate intermediate to advanced level drafting proficiency and be able to quickly learn and apply new drafting skills. A successful draft-person is expected to work well with others, absorb and apply constructive criticism and seek guidance from more experienced members of the team as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Complete drafting assignments and projects in Revit and/or AutoCAD with minimum supervision
Demonstrate advanced proficiency with universal drafting standards and best practices
Learn and apply company’s drafting standards and best practices
Learn and apply alternative drafting standards as required by clients
Consistently demonstrate high level of efficiency and accuracy when completing well defined tasks such as redline markups and copying sketches and layouts performed by others.
Create sheets and setup projects, according to standards, from scratch
Work efficiently to meet deadlines and perform tasks within a given amount of time
Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
This position requires the candidate to have an Associates’ (2-year) degree in computer-aided drafting, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of professional drafting experience is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts of geometry, trigonometry, probability, and statistical analysis. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and angular relationships to practical solutions.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Sufficient English skills to compose correspondence, proofread documents, and effectively communicate with supervisors, other technicians, and clients.
Intermediate level proficiency using: Revit and/or AutoCAD
Ability to quickly learn new CAD platforms to intermediate level proficiency
Accurately interpret markups and efficiently incorporate them into drawings
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Consistently produce drafting output in conformance with OBEC and other required drafting standards
Ability to back check work to ensure quality and accuracy
Identify and work in conjunction with designers to resolve potential conflicts and design issues
Demonstrate good judgment when given opportunity for creativity and latitude under the direction of Manager
Ability to prioritize special projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is required to talk and hear.
