Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? We expect that the selected candidate will work on a diverse array or complex projects throughout the southeast U.S. The typical project portfolio includes site characterization, landfill and surface impoundment engineering, levees, earth retaining structures, and slope stability and deformation analyses. Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

Conducting fieldwork, such geotechnical investigations; monitoring well installation; aquifer testing; and environmental sampling of soil, surface water, and groundwater;

Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;

Performing and reviewing engineering calculations;

Waste containment facility design and permitting;

Soil and groundwater remediation system design and construction;

Developing construction documents, including construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates;

Writing and reviewing technical reports, letters, and proposals; and

Managing multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.

Training: This position requires OSHA and/or MSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

Fieldwork: Up to 30%

Overnight travel: Up to 30%

BS degree in civil or environmental engineering. (required)

Advanced degree in geotechnical or environmental engineering. (preferred)

Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting. (preferred)

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)

Experience with engineering and geotechnical software, such as AutoCAD, UNSAT-H, SVFLUX, SLIDE, and PLAXIS. (preferred)

Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
