Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project management and technical oversight for the design of transportation structures, including bridges, sign and traffic signal structures, drainage structures, and retaining walls.
Delivers scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety and profitability of all projects managed.
Coordination and/or preparation of construction plans and details for transportation structures.
Plans and manages small to medium value projects, with a single or dual discipline focus and a low to medium risk profile.
Manages multiple projects with total revenue between $250K - $1M per year of billings.
Lead a project team of engineers and technicians.
QC review of design calculations and/or plans prepared by others.
Preparation and/or review of shop drawing submittals.
A component of the job duties may be dedicated to Business Development.
Site visits and field reviews.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering college or university with a focus on structural engineering.
8 to 12 years’ experience in transportation structures design with at least 2 of those years serving as a Task or Project Manager leading and directing projects or tasks.
Professional Engineer (PE) License and ability to acquire an Indiana PE by reciprocity.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete and steel design knowledge.
Experience with INDOT standard design practice for bridges and other transportation structures is preferred.
Experience and training in bridge inspection is a plus.
Experience with MicroStation. CAD software is a plus.
Demonstrated track record of external customer engagements and building and maintaining successful client relationships
Demonstrated working knowledge of fundamental project management skills and concepts such as: leading a project team, developing pricing, cost budget monitoring, calculating profit, etc.,
Detail oriented, conscientious, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills.
