The Senior Project Coordinator will be a part of a team that is responsible for providing project coordination services to ensure projects meet the company's Quality and Project Management standards and other requirements.


As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible to advise on project management best practices.

Furthermore, in this role you will be accountable for the following tasks :-

Project Management/Coordination:

Leads project planning, monitoring, and forecasting for such elements as resource needs, project scheduling, and budgeting.

Acts as Project Manager in his/her absence.

Leads project change and risk management.

Facilitates meetings by scheduling, preparing meeting agendas, and drafting meeting minutes.

Develops and implements document controls, communication protocols, and other project management systems.

Leads the maintenance of internal and external stakeholder relations.

Communicates quality and project management requirements to project teams and any other relevant stakeholders; and

Ensures documentation of quality and project management requirements.

Supports project safety requirement compliance.

Project Controls:

Leads financial management and the achievement of project financial performance and profitability targets by tracking and managing earned value and estimates to completion, creating and analyzing reports, verifying timesheets, and reviewing expense reports.

Leads subconsultant and subcontractor management.

Liaises with accounting personnel for internal and subconsultant invoice management.

Supports the collection of overdue Accounts Receivables.


Reviews and assesses contract terms and conditions.

Reviews and prepares contracts, proposals, agreement letters, change orders, NCRs, and other relevant documentation.

Training & Development:

Leads the development and implementation of best practices for project management across projects.

Trains, develops and advises junior staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.


If applying this role, you should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar project management role or equivalent along with a post-secondary education in engineering, business, project management, construction management or related field. You should also have the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain it, in addition to working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management.

Proficient in cost control management (Earned Value Management) for projects of various sizes.

Superior planning and organizational skills combined with the ability to work under pressure on multiple and competing deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to adjust to changing priorities, deal with ambiguity and work with a variety of stakeholders.

Collaborative teamwork and leadership style.

Proficient in scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera, and/or CPM Logic, or equivalent.

Ability to work with staff located remotely.

Experience in the A/E/C industry an asset.
