2020 Engineering Internship / Co-op

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Learn from our respected engineers and technicians as an AET Intern or Co-op! You’ll receive training in the areas of construction materials testing and field observations to go beyond what you’ve learned in the classroom in your engineering or geology coursework. As an Intern/Co-op, you’ll receive insight on how engineers, technicians, and contractors work together on the job site to complete a project successfully. Internships are available during the summer, and Co-op experiences last for six months (full-time employment from early summer to late fall) and allow for a greater depth of technical training and proficiency.

IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:

Receive training on testing procedures/equipment such as Gradations, Proctors, Nuclear Density Gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing

Perform field testing and/or observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel

Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent

Pursuing an Engineering or Geology related degree

Good driving record and vehicle to travel to job sites

Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds
