Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Tech II

Select Location: North Dakota: Williston, ND

AET’s Non-Destructive Testing group provides inspection and testing services to a variety of industries. We are seeking a Level II Technician in Williston, ND to support our clients in the oil and gas industry. Level II certification (or the ability to attain Level II certification shortly after hire) in RT (radiography) is required because this Technician will work independently. (Level II certifications in UT, MT, and PT preferred.) AET’s Williston office provides construction materials testing and geotechnical services in the area, and the addition of an NDT Technician in the office will allow AET to be more responsive to local NDT testing needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform MT, PT, UT, RT, and VT examinations. Interpret results and prepare reports documenting results.

Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining QA procedures in the NDT department.

Coordinate work with other AET personnel, including reporting and invoicing.

Perform work as a project manager, independent of supervision.

Participate in continuing education endeavors such as classes, seminars, conferences, etc. in order to stay up to date with current technologies and safe work practices.

Maintain client contact for ongoing projects and interface with the NDT manager to prepare proposals, schedule laboratory and field testing activities.

Assist in the promotion and marketing of AET and the NDT department.

OTHER AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Conduct field, laboratory and office activities in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and AET’s Health and Safety Policy, and that promotes the safety and protection of employees, clients and the public.

Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Some positions may require use of personal vehicle for company business. Maintain compliance with DOT driver regulations if required for position.

Frequent travel required within regional area.

Occasional out-of-town travel.

Work irregular hours as needed, occasionally for an extended length of time.

Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.

Maintain appropriate physicals.

Maintain the quality of service and work product.

Coordinate with other AET staff with the ultimate goal of increasing efficiency, productivity and communication.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

   High school diploma or equivalent.

   Two years’ experience in gamma radiography as it meets the requirements of 10 CFR Part 34.43 (g) for radiographers and radiographer assistants.

   Level II in RT, MT, PT, and UT methods.

   Communication skills sufficient to work effectively with clients and coworkers.

   Ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of people, work effectively within project teams, resolve issues and problems in a constructive manner, and work independently in the field.

   Capable of the physical labor required, with personal protective equipment.

   Ability to: Occasionally move 50-70 pounds; Stand up to 80% of the day (often on uneven surfaces);Move up to 80% of the day, with frequent climbing, bending and stooping; Occasionally work in confined spaces; Occasionally work at elevations up to 200 feet, using proper safety equipment as necessary.

Preferred:

   AWS CWI certification.
