Join Cardno’s Infrastructure Division team in Phoenix, AZ to play an integral role in vac truck / excavation tasks in order to locate and verify all existing underground utility facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
> This entry level position performs required designating / research tasks in order to locate all existing underground utility facilities utilizing a wide array of electronic designating equipment to include but not limited to electronic multi-frequency/scanning and ground penetrating radar equipment
> The ideal candidate will also possess some exposure in utilizing vacuum excavation type trucks/equipment as well as hand tools to visual excavate and verify such designated utilities
> Additional tools and equipment that will be utilized to complete the task will include but not limited to jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose and air lance and hand tools
> Performs vacuum excavation tasks, and utility marking tasks, supporting overall crew activities
> Drives commercial motor vehicles, however a CDL license is not required
> Completes paperwork including record keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately
> Performs daily basic maintenance on vehicles
> High School Diploma/GED
> Prior vac truck or utility related experience is a plus
> Must be able to work outdoors for long periods in the heat and all weather conditions
> Basic understanding of Highway/Utility plans is a plus, but not required
> Must have a good communication skills
> Must be organized
> Must have good problem solving skills
> Valid driver's license with clean driving record
> Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation
> OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
> Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
> Ability to perform physical movements and traction's, commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment
> Ability to travel up to 50%, including out of town travel for up to two weeks at a time
