Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with strong experience in the power and energy market sector to support our growing business. The ideal candidate will have established relationship within key utilities and industry partners and will be able to demonstrate identifying, winning, and delivering geotechnical design and construction services. Options for the location of this position include our office in Alpharetta, GA; Blacksburg, VA; Wilmington, NC; Richmond, VA; Sterling, VA; Rockville, MD; Baltimore, MD; Dallas, TX; or Chadds Ford, PA. Other office locations are also available for consideration.
Identify and pursue new clients within the market sector
Provide client management for existing and new strategic clients
Contribute to Schnabel’s public profile by actively participating in leadership and technical roles in professional organizations
Review project documents and geotechnical reports
Communicate project conditions and potential solutions to technical engineering staff
Supervise the development of engineering sketches or drawings, engineering calculations, and project specifications
Enforce quality procedures of Schnabel Engineering
Perform project management roles including maintenance of client communication, project scope and budget review, invoice review and accounts receivable
Efficient at balancing multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments
Required Skills and Experience:
Senior project management experience for power, energy and utility projects, across multiple subsectors including both generation and transmission
Knowledge of the Power and Energy market and experience/relationships with utility providers and industry designers
GeoStudio, MFAD, LPile, and GIS experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
Professional engineering license
10-15+ years of demonstrated geotechnical engineering experience
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Effective analytical and time management skills
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status (no visa sponsorship provided)
Ability to conduct business travel
