Fugro is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Senior Geoscientist within our Geoconsulting team in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented. This role will coordinate the interpretation and reporting of office and field related data. Responsible for accurate data processing, carrying out of computations and compilation of data analysis reports. Guide more junior data specialists in managing and analysing data. Act as a point of contact for colleagues within and outside own team around data-related questions.

Job Responsibilities

Oversees all daily activities of all project assignments, including geologic and geohazards mapping, characterization, analysis, assessment, and related reporting.

Routinely interacts with clients on technical and administrative issues, and carefully documents project communications according to Fugro procedures.

Supervise field and laboratory operations of company and subcontractors, and solve minor problems that may arise in the process.

Provides responsive, accurate technical advice to clients.

Provides technical training, mentorship and evaluation of junior geoscience staff.

Maintains a good technical and professional reputation with Fugro client base.

Assists with writing project proposals and other marketing activities.

Actively pursues business development opportunities.

Recommends and champions development and application of new or improved technologies, data interpretation techniques, and other innovations.

Contributes to annual project staff performance reviews, and other infrequent administrative activities related to resource management.

Complies with QMS and HSE requirements; ensures compliance of subordinate staff.

Job Requirements

B.S. degree or higher in marine geoscience. The ideal background would include a mixture of engineering geology, marine geophysics, geomechanics, and GIS applications.

8+ years in marine site investigations with experience interpreting most associated geophysical and geotechnical data types used for geohazard analysis.

Proficient level on IHS Kingdom or equivalent seismic interpretive workstation platform. ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Fledermaus or geo-spatial processing and analysis software a plus.

Ability to work independently, direct others as required, and collaborates across multi-disciplinary teams.

Good written and verbal communication skills, including the proven ability to write detailed technical papers and reports, are essential.

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
