Provides performs engineering and technical support relating to the hydrology and groundwater remediation activities for growth projects. Occasionally will assume a project management role for projects having a significant dewatering scope of work.
Provide support to the growth team’s project managers by ensuring that the required hydrologic data is being collected, compiled, analyzed, interpreted, and applied so that dewatering costs and timelines for the project can be communicated accurately to stakeholders and management.
Ensure that necessary hydrologic review of mine designs is conducted, and that potential risks or opportunities are communicated to key stakeholders.
Ensure on-going communication with other departments/functional groups (geology, mine operations, environmental, technical services, etc.) to optimize the ability for all groups to obtain the necessary information and/or accomplish a shared objective.
Ensure that hydrologic work is budgeted, forecasted, and communicated appropriately for all projects.
Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably at a mine site
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in civil engineering, hydrology or geohydrology sciences degrees is required. A master’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in civil engineering, hydrology or geohydrology sciences is highly preferred.
Familiarity with water well systems, hydraulic flow, and well-field balancing is preferred.
Knowledge via experience and/or education in water treatment such as Reverse Osmosis, radiation, health physics, and environmental regulations is preferred.
The ability to read and interpret technical, hydrological, and engineering-related schematics, models, and other such information is required.
Possess a complete suite of project management skillsets
Have a demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of peers and junior site personnel, working towards the advancement of scoping and prefeasibility studies.
Professional registration as an engineer, geologist, or hydrologist is preferred.
Prior experience using EQuIS is preferred.
Prior experience in managerial positions or experience is preferred.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, RMP, etc.) is preferred
