Tetra Tech, Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Inspector Level 3 this position will include on-site monitoring of all activities related to the construction of a very large reservoir and associates water control structures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review of contractor submittals in accordance with the requirements of the plans and specifications
On-site construction observations and documentation
On-site safety observer
Verifying work as constructed is in accordance with the approved plans and specifications
Insure activities are properly documented
Inspect and document progress of work at times appropriate to the construction
Perform inspections in a timely and professional manner
Working with the client, engineers and contractor to identify defects
Recording deviations, defects, or deficiencies observed in the work
Working with all parties to resolve any deviations, defects, or deficiencies observed in the work.
Maintain records of nonconforming work
Coordinate compliance as required by the contract documents or permits.
Assist with the construction certification process as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent
Have (preferred) or be willing to quickly attain FDOT Level I and Level II, Earthwork Construction Inspection training
Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required
Familiarity with general civil construction plans and specifications
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint)
Experience using AutoCAD engineering software, preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills, essential
OTHER DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The project is located just west of LaBelle, Florida and is anticipated to last for over 5-years
The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working with a diverse team in a challenging environment and be able to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities
The candidate must have knowledge and experience in field observation of underground construction, earth moving, embankment construction, deep excavation, shoring, grading, paving, drainage, installation of utilities and other general earth work projects
The work associated with this position will require coordination with the construction of the project’s large concrete water control structures and pumping stations
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the design and construction of these vertical concrete structures
The candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of construction standards and specifications associated with these works
