WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Geotechnical Engineer for our Houston office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Development of and management of subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs

 Management of geotechnical sub-consultants

 Preparation of geotechnical analyses and design of foundations, embankments/cuts, and earth retaining systems for transit/transportation projects

 Development of plans and specification related to geotechnical, underground and foundation engineering

 Performing complex numerical analysis for geotechnical and underground projects using geotechnical software

 Preparation of geotechnical memorandums and reports

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

 Minimum of 10 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering practice, US preferred

 MS or PhD in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus

 Proven experience with Texas/TXDOT geotechnical practices and geology

 Proven experience in geotechnical project planning, design & preparation of reports

 Proven experience in foundation design and analysis

 Demonstrated knowledge using geotechnical engineering software such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, APILE, LPILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, & SETTLE3D

 Ability to work in the US immediately required

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Current TX PE license

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pursuing, leading and delivering Design-Build contracts

High Speed Rail experience highly desirable
