Civil Project Engineer
The Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for preparing civil engineering designs, performing design calculations and civil engineering analyses, and preparing specifications for civil/site development projects. The Project Engineer will work in project teams, manage project tasks under the direction of senior engineers and group leaders. Project Engineer will be involved on the projects from beginning to the end which may include field walk down, meetings, design engineering, preparation of reports, bid supports, procurement, and construction administration. The goal is to allow the Civil Project Engineer to continually progress professionally. Part of this role will include interaction with the internal and external project team.
Through mentoring and coaching by senior staff, you will advance knowledge of the professional aspects and business of civil engineering and the application of the past experience. You will be part of a team of civil engineers working on large and exciting infrastructure projects. Checks plans, design calculations, reports, and correspondence prepared by staff engineers.
Prepares project plans, construction cost estimates and specifications for civil projects, including site grading, stormwater drainage, paving and site utilities.
Manages project tasks and projects
Mentors and trains staff engineers and technicians
Participates in field data collection in support of design, evaluation, and management projects.
Prepares technical reports.
Prepares client presentations for technical projects and reports.
Assists with development of proposals, including scope, fee and written proposals.
Skills & Requirements:
BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of residency
5-8 years of experience in site development on a wide range of site civil and utility projects.
Willing to travel to project sites, perform field investigations and site studies, etc.
Some MicroStation or AutoCAD experience preferred.
Geotechnical, structural and/or water resource experience is a plus.
Excellent technical communication skills.
Willingness to learn and invest in professional development.
