We have exciting opportunities for final year Civil and Structural Engineering students for our January - June 2020 intake. Starting within our Geotechnics and Tunneling teams and supported by passionate mentors, you will get involved in;
Carrying out detailed design work and documentation under supervision
Contributing to the delivery of projects
Liaising supervisors, drafts-persons and other specialists on issues relating to the designated tasks and the delivery of designated work on packages and projects
Assisting in preparation of specifications, proposals and other documents under supervision
As a graduate employee at SMEC, you will have the opportunity to rotate every six months, allowing you to experience other aspects of Civil Engineering that may be of interest as well as gaining an appreciation for other technical components of a multi-disciplinary project.
In addition, you will be given regular training on everything from consulting with clients to managing your time effectively.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
Final year of study in Civil/Structural Engineering
Good academic performance to date
Appreciation of the technical, commercial, financial, and marketing aspects of engineering
Ability to complete tasks within time and budget constraints to an acceptable standard
Developed knowledge in analytical methods, tools and principles
Able to undertake interstate travel as required
