Your Opportunity

The role of the Computational Water Resources Specialist is to perform tasks and project management assignments associated with analytical aspects of hydrological studies, subsurface investigations, basin scale studies, remediation design and evaluation; data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable preparation.

Your Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the planning of water resource development by forecasting and monitoring key water resource indicators.

Use groundwater computer models to determine the most effective ways of managing available water.

Analyze the effects of environmental and land-use changes on groundwater flows and surface water/groundwater interaction.

Respond to basin scale water flows, for example droughts and floods, and evaluate different methods to address issues.

Conduct climate impact studies with respect to various hydrological applications.

Prepare technical reports and studies.

Provides hands-on service to our clientele, working with engineers and planners on environmental assessments and construction monitoring, and post approval permitting

Demonstrates sound application of established practices, standards and guidelines.

Responsible for specific objectives and the achievement of significant results.

Provide for knowledge transfer to staff.

Applies technical and business knowledge and methods to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions to address current and potential project issues

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Knowledge of advanced mathematics including differential equations, numerical methods, statistics, and geostatistics.

Fluent in at least one scripting and one programming language.

Capable of large data assembly, management, and manipulation.

Fundamental knowledge of fluid dynamics, aquifer hydraulics, and test analysis.

Able to grasp new technology and methods.

Proficient in policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training, leads by example, and applies these policies and procedures as appropriate to their work.

Solid skills in technical writing.

Developed skills in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public.

Able to build strong relationships with key clients with respect to their technical area and the broader business objectives in their regions.

Builds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationships.

Drives collaborative efforts within the Business Center and beyond to deliver consistent, high quality and appropriately scoped technical work.

At least two years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of small to medium projects.

Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License.

OSHA 40-hour training required.

Prior to employment, this position will require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering or related field. At least 1-2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
