HDR currently has an opening for a Geotechnical EIT to join our Water Business Group team in Lexington. This individual will typically work under the direction of a licensed PE. An interest in performing project management duties is a plus.
Some project management responsibilities include: coordinating workload, developing project schedules, establish sequencing of tasks and utilizing HDR’s technology.
Will work closely with our technical design staff and senior level geotechnical engineers and act as a resource for questions related to project budgets, schedules and quality of products.
Responsible for the geotechnical analysis and design of infrastructure projects including but not limited to roadways, railways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, levees, soil and rock slopes, asphalt and concrete pavements, etc.
Position will also review boring logs, laboratory data and design plans for a variety of geotechnical tasks such as slope stability, settlement analysis, construction recommendations, etc.
Duties include work on shallow and deep foundation design, such as driven piles and drilled shafts, and also provide project specific analysis of liquefaction potential with seismic considerations, slide remediation, ground improvement, and others; prepare drawings, specifications, and foundation reports for geotechnical projects.
Individual is expected to coordinate with project managers to implement measures to successfully meet all project goals and objectives.
PMP or PMI certification is a plus
0+ years of engineering project experience
Familiarity with geotechnical engineering software (geostudios, ensoft, GRLWEAP, gINT) is beneficial
Must be willing to travel with possible extended assignments throughout the United States on an as-needed basis
Must have excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environment
A highly positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Experience with MS Office and software applications, specifically Word, Excel and Project Scheduler
