At Jacobs our structural engineers are responsible for the structural design for new structures as well as existing structural upgrades. Our engineers design unique and challenging projects, and perform investigations to make expert recommendations to clients for various purposes.
Perform structural analysis and calculations using various building materials.
Generate structural drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables while working with the structural engineering team and other disciplines within the project team.
Think independently to draw engineering conclusions and make technical decisions and complete assigned work.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and building codes.
Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions, and leading on issues where appropriate.
BS in Civil Engineering or BS Structural Engineering, from an accredited school, is required
0-2 years of experience
Working knowledge of Building codes including IBC, AISC, ASCE and ACI.
Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is required
Working knowledge of structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAP, RAM, STAAD.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months
Familiar with the design of steel, concrete, wood, masonry and precast structures.
Familiar with the analysis and design of structures for wind and seismic loads.
Master’s in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred
US Citizen is preferred
