Job Description

Patrick Engineering is performing Program Management for multiple wind projects totaling more than 750MW of production at nearly $1B of total project cost. Patrick is looking to expand its team to include experienced site management/construction management personnel to assist with completion of the design/development stage and to help lead the program into the construction and commissioning stages. The ideal candidate will have worked on the construction of multiple wind farms, have intimate knowledge of the erection and assembly of towers and turbines, be familiar with the major equipment suppliers such as Vestas, General Electric, and other manufacturers. The position will be located in St. Louis, MO, and will require regular travel to various wind sites in Missouri during construction.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a site superintendent, project or construction manager, and be able to work collaboratively with clients, manufacturers, developers, general contractors and subcontractors, and permitting authorities. The selected person will help complete the construction planning efforts, help establish construction protocols and management procedures, and play a critical role in establishing field oversight and inspection teams. The Sr. Field Manager/Construction Manager, along with the expanded field team(s) will be responsible for expediting the construction project(s), managing and administering construction contracts, ensuring all contractual requirements/special provisions are being met, providing quality assurance for the construction elements installed, and acting as the owner’s representative for the successful completion of the assigned wind project(s).

Responsibilities may also include but not be limited to:

Owner’s Onsite Representative

Attend BOP Contractor’s Onsite Meetings – high awareness of potential scope/cost/schedule issues.

Track and report on construction progress against plan.

Report on compliance with Quality Assurance and Control requirements.

Communicate with BOP Contractor’s Onsite Supervisor and the Owner’s Project Manager.

Provide weekly summaries to the Owner’s Program Manager.

Conduct Daily Site Walks focused on both Critical Path construction activities and highest Safety Risk activities.

Ensure that weekly project fly-overs or other data capture a high-level visual record of construction progress.

Coordinate and manage the activities of the Construction Observation / Independent QA Review personnel.

Perform/Facilitate Factory Inspections – WTG’s/Transformers/Other

Become intimately familiar with major equipment specifications and shipment/delivery obligations.

Monitor Production Schedules – make strategic onsite visits to ensure production milestones are being met.

Observe and photo-document manufacturing activities.

Report any apparent deviations to the Owner’s Program Manager.

Oversee and Manage field team(s) for Construction Observation/Independent QA Review. Establish a fully functional field team, including training the team and establishing processes and procedures, so the field team can effectively:

Monitor Safety – have representation at crew-level safety meetings and observe general compliance with safety plans.

Monitor and document compliance with all plans and specifications.

Establish contractor cooperation and contractor accountability

Observe and photo-document ongoing Construction Activities and provide accurate data required to maintain a GIS tool for tracking actual work progress.

Facilitate coordination with third party QAC.

Report any apparent deviations or deficiencies.

Education/Skills/Knowledge:

Bachelor's Degree

10 years of relevant experience
