Job Description
The Highway Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects and overseeing technical accuracy and quality of products while delivering on-time and on or under budget projects that meet client specifications outlined in proposals. This position delegates tasks and coordinates with staff, specifically working with Technical Staff, Marketing, Business Development and Accounting (Financial Analysts and Invoicing Clerks) to ensure all tasks are completed on-time and follow internal processes and procedures.
The Highway Project Manager is responsible for project scope, schedule and budget, negotiating with clients, coordinating and managing sub consultants when appropriate and implementing QA/QC procedures on work done by Technical Engineers. This role will work with Group Leaders and Marketing throughout the proposal process and will have input on the strategic direction of the group to ensure alignment of group goals and targets. The Highway Project Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding the Patrick profit goal developed at the onset of the project. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining relationships with clients, other consultants, growing business and the marketing of their group. The Highway Project Manager may also be responsible for personnel management, performance reviews and will be relied upon often for technical direction on projects.

Follows all internal processes and procedures as it relates to the above responsibilities
Develops solutions to technical and business problems that could impede projects
Develops contingency plans
Acts as the primary interface to both the client and Patrick teams
Develops and mentors team members
Ensures that the project comes in accurately, on time and within budget
Prepares project status and executive reporting
Keeps the client appraised of project status on a regular basis, at a minimum through monthly progress reporting
Demonstrates excellent technical and professional engineering skills commensurate with years of experience
Coordinates with other engineers and support staff during field assignments, studies, and preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements
Responsible for meeting assigned project goals & objectives and ensuring on schedule accurate completion off all project deliverables within or below budget
Ensures that the company safety, quality and technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of team projects
Demonstrates a proactive, collaborative approach with project team members, client representatives, sub consultants, contractors, review agencies and others as appropriate for the project.
Meets or exceeds client expectations
Assists with other duties as assigned by managers within your group
Education/Skills/Knowledge
BS/MS in Civil Engineering
8 plus years of experience; Professional Engineering License required
Proven leadership skills and experience is required
Involvement in various industry societies
Strong computer skills, specifically in the area of Microsoft Office and relevant software
Strong technical written and verbal communications skills
Ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas
