Field Engineer - Heavy Civil Construction

Position Summary:
Perform engineering duties in planning, designing temporary structures, and overseeing construction process. Engineer will be working hand in hand with the field superintendent and will be responsible for the day to operations of the project.
Required Skills
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan the project
Communicate quantity take-offs to aid in the measurement of materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete a project; provides accurate, detailed, and completed quantity cost & billing and quality control measurements.
Plan and design temporary structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.
Develop, communicate and submits construction work plans to aid in the execution of a project.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals.
Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel.
Accurately documents project progress consisting of deliveries, weather, staffing, and other pertinent project information.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.

Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, database management, AutoCAD
Demonstrated skills in organizing and evaluating information and in proactively finding solutions.

Must be ethical and punctual, works well under pressure.
Required Experience
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a Civil engineering, or engineering-related field
Minimum 4 years’ experience in heavy civil construction
